After a nerve-wracking one-wicket victory over Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the tournament opener, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots were brought back down to earth with a heavy 44-run defeat against the Trinbago Knight Riders.

In their last outing, the Patriots’ bowling unit bore the brunt of Trinbago's onslaught, conceding a massive 250/4. Dominic Drakes had a day to forget, leaking 77 runs in his four overs without claiming a wicket, while Odean Smith’s three overs saw 35 runs being added to the total without a breakthrough.

Ryan John also struggled, giving away 55 runs for a solitary wicket in his four overs. Anrich Nortje’s figures of 2 for 37 were a silver lining in an otherwise dark cloud for the Patriots’ bowling attack.

On the batting front, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots showed flashes of brilliance, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide in their favour. Evin Lewis led the charge with a brisk 39 off 23 balls, while Mikyle Louis impressed with a gritty 56 off 38.

Tristan Stubbs added some late fireworks with 39 off 19 balls, but these contributions ultimately fell short of the substantial match-winning knocks needed to chase down Trinbago’s mammoth total.
