Babar Azam To Drop Haris? Peshawar's Probable XI For Qualifier 1 vs Rizwan's Multan

On Thursday, Peshawar Zalmi will cross swords against Multan Sultans in Qualifier 1 of the ongoing Pakistan Super League season. Led by Babar Azam, Peshawar Zalmi have had a fabulous PSL 2024 campaign, placed second in the points table with six wins in ten outings.

Although skipper Babar Azam has starred with the bat alongside Saim Ayub and Rovman Powell, the abysmal form of Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Haseebullah and Mohammad Haris remains a headache for the franchise.

While Haris averages a mere 11.42 across eight innings in PSL 2024, Kohler-Cadmore and Haseebullah have been inconsistent throughout the tournament.

So, moving on to the all-important qualifier, the Zalmi might think of dropping one of these players, bringing Asif Ali back into the playing XI.

Asif Ali hasn't been exceptional either, scoring 72 runs in six innings. However, he provides the side with an able finishing option unlike the aforementioned top-order batters.

Peshawar Zalmi could also consider dropping Aimal Khan, who conceded 13 runs in his one-over spell in the previous clash against Karachi Kings. If Aimal is excluded, he will be replaced by Khurram Shahzad or Salman Irshad.

The rest of the Zalmi's lineup will likely be the same, with Saim, Babar, Powell, Aamer Jamal and Luke Wood forming the core.
