In a significant development, Sri Lanka Cricket has announced a robust squad for the upcoming ODI series against Bangladesh.

Ace speedster Dushmantha Chameera, battling with an injury, has been ruled out of the series. In his absence, Lahiru Kumara has made his ODI return, having played his last international 50-over game against England in the 2023 World Cup

Spin bowling all-rounder Kamindu Mendis' comeback also marks a major highlight of the selection, as he has been recalled after a two-year hiatus. Stylish top-order keeper-batter Kusal Mendis will lead the Lankan contingent, an amalgamation of experience and youth.

As expected, Pathum Nissanka and Avishka Fernando have been picked as the top-order batters, with Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka and Janith Liyanage forming the middle order.

Wanindu Hasaranga and Dunith Wellalage are the primary spin all-rounders, while Pramod Madushan, Kumara and Dilshan Madushanka have made it into the squad as the seam bowling options.

Veteran off spinner Akila Dananjaya and pace bowling all-rounder Chamika Karunaratne have also been included, ensuring experience in the Lankan camp.
