Australia prepares to host Pakistan in a multi-format series starting from 4 November as the two lock horns with one another for the first ODI at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in Melbourne from  9.00 AM IST onwards.

This series will be Mohammad Rizwan's first match as captain of Pakistan after a change in leadership since Babar Azam resigned earlier. Moreover, Jason Gillespie, who had coached the Test team, will be the head coach for this tour after Gary Kirsten left.

Saim Ayub, who has done well in Tests and T20Is, will make his ODI debut along with Irfan Khan. Pakistan has picked up Babar Azam along with Naseem Shah and Shaheen Afridi, who were previously exclusion from the Test side of the country. They have also included spinner all-rounder Kamran Ghulam in their announced playing XI.

Meanwhile, Matthew Short and Jake Fraser-McGurk will open for Australia in their first game together, with Pat Cummins leading the team for the first time since the final of the ODI World Cup. However, Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh are on paternity leave, while Josh Hazlewood rests ahead of the second ODI.
