No matter how stressful or tensed the situation is India's star all-rounder, Ravichandran Ashwin never forgets to think quickly and stay on his feet. A glimpse of this was evidently visible during the third and final Test match between India and New Zealand at the iconic Wankhede Stadium.
In the all-important clash, India needed 27 runs to win with Ashwin and Washington Sundar out in the middle. On the third ball of the 27th over, Glenn Phillips unleashed a full length delivery outside off. Ashwin prodded forward and blocked it with soft hands but the ball rolled back onto the stumps. Ashwin tried to stop it and in the process almost knocks over his stumps.
The ball trickled onto the stumps however Ashwin carefully managed to use his bat to stop the ball and the bails did not come off and he survived what could have been a massive blow for India at that moment or so they hoped. While the New Zealand players were all in disappointment, Ashwin looked tensed yet relaxed after he managed to come out of alive of the tricky situation.

India's WTC Spot In Danger
India's recent Test defeats significantly impacted their situation in the World Test Championship points table, and they slumped to second position at the hands of Australia. They now have 58.33 per cent, so the upcoming Australian tour is the most critical tour for them so far. India has to win four Tests to enter the WTC finals.
