Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) posted the video of an interview between Mr Nags and DJ Timmy Trumpet. However, the presence of an unidentified man looking like Indian captain Rohit Sharma has caught the fans’ attention.
The IPL 2025 season is set to begin from March 22 with RCB taking on KKR in the opening fixture scheduled at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Ahead of the season, RCB’s social media team is highly active in creating hype around its franchise.
However, in a recent video, fans have alleged that RCB purposely mocked Indian team captain Rohit Sharma.
Mr Nags’ Video With Timmy Trumpet Lands In Controversy
Renowned DJ Timmy Trumpet was in Bengaluru to perform at RCB’s unbox event at M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. Before the event, Trumpet did a special interview with the franchise’s mascot, Mr Nags.
The video starts with Nags mistaking Trumpet with an unknown man who’s looks and physique resembled Rohit Sharma. Fans noticed it and accused RCB of mocking the Indian team captain.
Rohit Sharma, ex-captain of Mumbai Indians, has often faced backlash over his fitness. And RCB’s video only added fuel to the fire.
Meanwhile, the team has already departed for Kolkata for their first match against KKR scheduled on March 22 at Eden Gardens. With new captain Rajat Patidar at their helm, the franchise will aim for their maiden IPL title this year.
