Prithvi Shaw's future with Mumbai cricket has been the talking point since the time the selectors decided to drop him from the Ranji Trophy squad last year. He did not get a chance to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, too, and a lot of questions have been asked about his fitness and discipline.

Now, with a new domestic season approaching, Indian Express has revealed that Prithvi Shaw has decided to leave Mumbai Cricket and has asked for an NOC. It has also stated that two or three state associations have approached the cricketer. Thus, in this article, we will look at where he can possibly fit for the next domestic season.

1. Vidarbha

The 25-year-old right-handed batter seems most likely to play for Vidarbha in the 2025-26 domestic season. The Ranji Champions of the last edition are likely to miss the services of Karun Nair and Jitesh Sharma, and it has been reported that the state association is on the lookout for a new professional cricketer.

Thus, Prithvi Shaw looks like a perfect fit to replace Karun Nair, as he brings the same international experience and quality to the table. Also, going to Vidarbha means he would continue to be a part of a team that represents a region of Maharashtra, and this factor could also affect his decision.

Also, the success of Karun Nair and Wasim Jaffer in the past for Vidarbha could motivate Prithvi Shaw to try out the same route to revive his career.

2. Kerala

Kerala, the finalists of the last Ranji season, could also rope in Prithvi Shaw for the upcoming domestic season. Aditya Sarwate is set to leave Kerala, and there were doubts over Sanju Samson's future with the state association in the past.

Thus, the southern state would like to get the services of a player of a quality of Prithvi Shaw. The right-handed batter is likely to get more freedom and regular opportunities while playing for Kerala. So, Shaw might move southwards for the upcoming domestic season.

3. Goa

Goa is another state where Prithvi Shaw can fit in. The culture of the state is a bit similar to Mumbai. Thus, many players like Arjun Tendulkar and Siddesh Lad have made a move from Mumbai to Goa.

Prithvi Shaw can follow a similar route, and he could end up getting the captaincy of Goa, too, with Yashasvi Jaiswal deciding to stay with Mumbai. Also, moving to Goa would help Shaw create his own legacy with the state and take them to heights they have not reached before.
