The Gujarat Titans did not have a great season in IPL 2024. After making it to the finals of the tournament for two consecutive years, they had to bow out of the tournament form the league stage. 

There were a few reasons behind the poor show from the Titans. There was a change in the leadership role and due to departure of Hardik Pandya, there was also a imbalance in the team composition. 

If news are to be believed, even more tumultuous times are waiting for the franchise in the near future. Whatever happens the Titans will have to go through rigorous task of re-building the squad during the IPL 2025 mega auction. 1.Shubman Gill

Although, Shubman Gill did not have the best of times as the captain of the team, he is a crucial part of the batting unit of the team. Over the three seasons, Gill has established himself as a solid opener of the team who gives the team a good foundation in most of the games. Besides, it is highly improbable that they will sack him as a captain after only one season. So, in order to bring the next set of players together under the leadership of Gill, the Titans will look to retain current Indian white ball vice-captain. 

2. Rashid Khan

The Afghan superstar has become an integral part of the GT set-up with his all-round performances. From changing the game on its head with a brilliant bowling spell to playing some of the most clutch knocks under pressure, Rashid Khan has done it all for the Titans. Besides, the presence of Rashid Khan gives an extra dynamism and allows greater flexibility to the management. In order to hold on to their composition and because of the value that Rashid Khan adds to the team, the Titans will be looking to retain him in all probabilities. 

3. Mohammed Shami

The Indian veteran and experienced campaigner Mohammed Shami has been an intricate and integral part of GT's success. In the recent times, Shami has emerged as a lethal bowler in almost all phase of the game and this has really helped the Titans in their ventures. The impact of Mohammed Shami can be understood from the fact that in his absence the team could not maintain their consistency in performance in IPL 2024. The value that he has added to the team along with his experience and potential makes him a must-retain player for the Titans.
