Yograj Singh is well known for making strong and surprising statements whenever he speaks about cricket. This time, his comments are about Arjun Tendulkar, the son of India legend Sachin Tendulkar.

Notably, Yograj has advised Arjun Tendulkar to give more attention to his batting skills. According to him, Arjun is a talented batter and shows similarities to Sachin while batting.

Yograj Singh shares his views on Arjun Tendulkar

Yograj Singh, who is the father of former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, shared his views during an interview with journalist Ravish Bisht. He clearly stated that Arjun Tendulkar has strong batting ability and should focus more on that part of his game.

While speaking in the interview, Yograj Singh said, "Arjun Tendulkar should focus on batting, he's a quality batter, he bats like Sachin."

This statement gained attention quickly. Notably, Yograj has trained Arjun in the past, which adds weight to his words. Many fans found the comment interesting, especially since Arjun is mainly known as a fast bowler.

Junior Tendulkar having an average domestic run

Notably, Arjun Tendulkar is currently playing for Goa in the Vijay Hazare Trophy (VHT 2025-26). Over the years, he has often been compared to his father Sachin Tendulkar, who is regarded as one of the greatest batters in cricket history. These comparisons naturally bring high expectations and public interest.

It is worth mentioning that in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy, Arjun opened the batting for Goa. This decision surprised many as Arjun is primarily seen as a bowler rather than a recognised top-order batter. Still, he was given the responsibility to open the innings.

In a match against his former team, Mumbai, Arjun opened the batting and scored 24 runs from 27 balls. This performance showed some promise and added to the discussion around his batting potential.

Notably, in the ongoing VHT, Arjun has gone wicketless across three innings, while contributing 44 runs with the bat in the same number of innings.

In another interview with former Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab player Taruwar Kohli, Yograj Singh made even stronger claims. Speaking on Kohli’s YouTube channel, Yograj said that Arjun could become the world’s greatest batter within six months under his guidance.

"If Arjun Tendulkar comes to me now, I will make him the world's greatest batter in six months. No one knows the potential he has with the bat. He was with me for 12 days, he scored a century in Ranji Trophy debut. Did anybody realise?" Yograj Singh said.

Arjun's domestic career so far

It is worth mentioning thar Arjun Tendulkar has played 22 first-class matches, taking 48 wickets. In List A cricket, he has 25 wickets from 21 matches. In T20s, he has claimed 35 wickets from 29 games. In the IPL, he has played five matches with three wickets at an economy rate of 9.36.

Arjun began his domestic career with Mumbai in 2021 before moving to Goa ahead of the 2022–23 season.
