Despite some recent struggles, India's ace batsman, Virat Kohli, has been supported to play a top-notch game in the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy by his childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma. He is sure Kohli will show his class, brushing aside fears about his recent form.
Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli has been experiencing a frustrating lean phase recently as runs have dried out from his side of the bat.
During the Border-Gavaskar series against Australia, he managed to get just one century and had a total of 198 runs from 5 Tests.
Moreover, even during the ODI series against England, Kohli settled for a half-century, with fans raising concerns over his form ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025.
Rajkumar Sharma Comes To Virat Kohli’s Rescue
Virat Kohli's childhood coach from Delhi, Rajkumar Sharma, has backed the former to regain his form and perform like a champion in the upcoming ICC event.
Sharma feels the experienced cricketer's previous statistics say a lot about his talent to perform in pressure situations.
"Just because some matches went bad, does not mean the player is out-of-touch. When you look at his previous records, you will see what he did for the country. I believe that he will be playing like the champion player he always has been," Rajkumar Sharma said.
Kohli's impressive Champions Trophy stats, including 529 runs at an average of 88.16. He also added that a couple of poor games do not determine Kohli's ability.
Virat Kohli tackles BCCI’s travel ban on personal chefs
Virat Kohli has appeared to discover how to cope with BCCI's new touring guidelines prior to the Champions Trophy which do not permit players to take along personal chefs, assistants, or security officials when travelling overseas for tours.
As per reports, when he reached Dubai, he quickly planned with the team manager there, organising a meal from a top-rated local eatery that would be suitable for his diet.
As the rest of the team packed up after training, Virat Kohli was seen enjoying his personal food package, even saving some for later.
