In a one-sided contest, Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women beat Delhi Capitals Women by 8 wickets to win the fourth match of the WPL 2025 season. Chasing 142 runs, Smriti Mandhana and Danii Wyatt stitched a 107-run partnership for the opening wicket. Here's how RCB-W vs DC-W panned out in Vadodara:
Jemimah-Meg Lanning stitched 50-run partnership
Delhi Capitals Women batted first but lost explosive opener Shafali Verma early. Verma went for a big hit but mistimed her shot to hold out to Smriti Mandhana. Her golden duck dismissal left Delhi reeling for 1/1 before Jemimah Rodrigues and Meg Lanning knitted a 59-run partnership. Jemimah scored 34 off 22 balls while Lanning slammed 17 off 19 balls.
Ekta Bisht, Renuka Singh’s spells leave Delhi in tatters
Meanwhile, Georgia Wareham broke the partnership by dismissing Jemimah Rodrigues. Ekta Bisht bowled a decisive spell as she dismissed dangerous Marizanne Kapp and Jess Jonassen for 12 and 1 runs respectively.
With regular blows, Delhi Capitals Women struggled to build partnership and were bowled out for 141 runs. While Renuka Singh and Wareham picked up a three-wicket-haul, Kim Garth and Ekta Bisht chipped in with two wickets each.
Smriti Mandhana & Dani Wyatt Demolishes Delhi Capitals
In the second inning, RCB Women openers Smriti Mandhana and Dani Wyatt Hodge came out all guns blazing. Both had a stunning 107-run partnership for the 1st wicket. Hodge hit 42 off 33 balls, hammering seven timely boundaries.
On the other hand, Mandhana was more brutal with her hitting. She accumulated as many as 81 runs in 47 balls, including 10 crucial boundaries and 3 more sixes. She lost her wickets in the 16th over but RCB were already in a winning position.
RCB Women registers comfortable victory
The moment Smriti Mandhana was dismissed, RCB Women needed only 9 runs in 5 overs. Richa Ghosh slammed a boundary and RCB chased down the total in 16.2 overs. With that, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCBW) registered an 8-wicket victory, demolishing Delhi Capitals Women.
