In recent weeks, five of the six franchise owners in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) have extended their contracts for the coming 10 years after a successful first decade of the league, while the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is also working on adding two new teams from 2026, making it a grander league, with 8 teams.
Several T20 legends, pushing their 40s, have also shown interest in playing the league from the upcoming season, while deciding to skip the Indian Premier League (IPL) mini-auction in the coming days, adding some more excitement for the fans. As they head into a new era of the T20 league, here's what PCB head Mohsin Naqvi had to say about their ambitions.

The PCB and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) head has been an active member in the league since its inception. He was also one of the parties interested in buying a team; however, making an unsuccessful bid. As the season 11 appraoches, he spoke about making PSL the best league in the world, surpassing the likes of IPL, BBL, SA20, The Hundred, among others.
"To make this league [PSL] the world's No.1 league. That's the vision. And with so many people around like Ramiz and Wasim. I don't think so, it's a difficult task, and I'm very much sure that we will make this league world's No.1," said the PCB chair.
He further looked pleased with how the likes of Ramiz Raja, Babar Azam, Mohammad Haris and Sahibzada Farhan had some interesting point of views to add and advise for the betterment of the league, while also asking the potential investors to take the risk and they would not be dissatisfied.
"Think about one thing, whatever you'll be investing now, after 10 years, I can tell you one thing, it will be worth it. So, my advice is, take the risk, get the team, and I am sure you will be one of the very lucky ones who will feel really good after getting a team," he concluded.
Upon being released by their respective IPL franchises, Faf du Plessis and Moeen Ali have confirmed their availability for the PSL 11 season. They will join the likes of David Warner, who already made a switch after going unsold in the mega auction. It will also be interesting to see if Glenn Maxwell also joins the list after he decided to not register for the IPL auction.
The clarity on whether the league will continue with their old draft system or introduce a new player selection system is to be announced, with some changes expected from PSL 11.
