'Why Would You Go..,' Chopra Questions Hardik Pandya’s Move From Gujarat Titans To Mumbai Indians

The cricketer-turned-commentator Akash Chopra raised a very imperative question regarding Hardik Pandya’s latest move to the Mumbai Indians (MI) from the Gujarat Titans (GT) if he is not the captain.
Pandya commenced his IPL journey with MI and experienced a prosperous tenure with them prior to joining GT before the IPL 2022 auction. According to reports, the versatile player is set to reunite with his previous franchise in anticipation of the IPL 2024 auction.
Chopra expressed his doubts regarding the reported development in a video uploaded on his YouTube channel. He pondered over the possibility of the Titans releasing Pandya and speculated whether he would join the Mumbai Indians in case he is not appointed as their skipper.
"A rumor is doing the rounds that Hardik is moving towards Mumbai. It has been heard, no confirmation has come. If he is leaving, firstly Gujarat are releasing him - won once and reached the final once. If he is leaving, will he be made Mumbai's captain? Why would you go if you are not being made the captain?"
At the moment, Chopra does not foresee the Titans to pick an overseas skipper in the form of either Rashid Khan or Kane Williamson should Pandya move to MI. In such a scenario, he emphasized that Shubman Gill would be the sole captaincy option for the GT franchise.
