In hot and tempting developments, Hardik Pandya is all set to return back to his first IPL franchise Mumbai Indians, who are eagerly in talks with Gujarat Titans to trade the maverick all-rounder. As reported by News18, Gujarat will let go of Pandya, and hand the captaincy to the upcoming Indian star, Shubman Gill.
There are also rumors that Mumbai Indians will drop either Rohit Sharma or Jofra Archer. Mumbai Indians (MI) face a challenging decision in potentially replacing Rohit Sharma as captain, given his remarkable leadership in securing five IPL titles.
Considering this, MI may seek the inclusion of Hardik Pandya, who commenced his IPL journey with the franchise and played a pivotal role in four title victories from 2015 to 2020. Hardik later joined Gujarat in 2022 and swiftly guided them to victory in his inaugural season as captain, replicating the feat in 2023 by leading the team to the finals.
MI could strategically request Hardik to replace the unavailable Jofra Archer before assuming the captaincy from Rohit. With the IPL transfer window closing on November 26, the franchise faces a crucial decision in reshaping their squad dynamics for the upcoming season.
