With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 just hours away from commencement, all experts have already delved into the weaknesses and strengths of franchises. 

Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra, who is known for his outright views, has called Mumbai Indians batting as one of their key components in their road to success this season.

Mumbai has always been a batting powerhouse and rattled the opposition with its brute strength, and this edition they have added Hardik Pandya into the mix as well, which provides depth to their lineup.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Chopra stated how MI's will benefit from their Indian squad members, who excel in batting mostly.

"Their biggest strength is that they have capped Indian players from top to bottom. Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Piyush Chawla - all have played for India. It's incredible if you have so much experience. 


"They have an entire Indian batting lineup. Who has such a destructive Indian batting lineup? They are a batting powerhouse and you expect to do well in all conditions with so many Indian batters."

The top-order will witness Rohit Sharma, and Ishan Kishan, while the likes of Tilak Varma, Pandya, and Nehal Wadhera will form a solid middle-order. The return of Suryakumar Yadav will further boost their batting prowess. 

Further, the former Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player explained how Mumbai's batting combined with their strong pace attack will form a tough prospect for other franchises to get past. 

The Pandya-led side begins their IPL 2024 campaign against Gujarat Titans on March 24 in Ahmedabad.
