'When I Was In RCB...,' KL Rahul Recalls His Learnings From Virat Kohli In IPL

KL Rahul had a fruitful season for RCB in the 2016 edition as he scored 397 runs at a strike-rate of over 146. He missed the following season due to an injury and since then has not been part of RCB setup. However, there are now rumours that RCB will buy him in the upcoming mega auction, and the batter himself has expressed his indirect interest to play for the franchise.
Rahul is a Karnataka player and will add a local flavour to the franchise and the RCB fans too are pretty keen to have the stylish right-handed batter back in their team. While speaking to Star Sports, KL Rahul has now revealed how his stint with RCB changed his game and helped him progress in his career.
KL Rahul Reflects On His Journey With RCB
Rahul mentioned that he used to watch Virat Kohli's fitness journey and his commitment towards the game. The wicketkeeper batter added that he tried to replicate that in his routine and it help him to do better in IPL and first-class cricket.
"When I was in RCB, I used to watch Kohli's fitness journey and his commitment - try to follow and replicate in my routine & training. From that season my performances in IPL & First Class Cricket went up & get better."
Apart from RCB, KL Rahul has played for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants. He was the captain of LSG from 2022 to 2024 season, but has now been released and is expected to be in high demand in the mega auction scheduled to take place on December 24 and 25. RCB is one of the team that is likely to bid for Rahul, while the likes of Punjab Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals might also bid for him as he provides as solid batting option along with his leadership skills.
