On Thursday, Australia kickstarted their T20 World Cup campaign with a bang as they defeated Oman by 39 runs at Kensington Oval in Barbados. Marcus Stoinis emerged as the star for Australia, guiding them to glory with his remarkable all-round effort.

In the post-match presentation, Stoinis revealed how he teamed up with David Warner to bail Australia out of trouble.

"We lost early wickets but we tried to hit the ball along the ground. I was just trying to soak up the conditions and keep it simple in the middle,"

"I and David spoke about getting some momentum. When I hit a couple of blows, I tried hit a few more. I was not committed to it at the start of the over at all."

Besides scoring 67 runs off 36 balls, Stoinis scalped three wickets for only 19 runs in his three overs. So, in the presentation, the all-rounder disclosed his bowling plans that worked wonders for him.

"Not seam-up. I tried to bowl cross-seam deliveries and scrambled seam deliveries. There was no swing for the seam-up deliveries. I don't know about the speeds. I guess it turned up on," he concluded.

With the commanding win, Australia got off the mark in the T20 World Cup points table and will face arch-rivals England in their next group-stage encounter.
