Australia's T20 World Cup 2024 campaign got off to a perfect start on Thursday, June 6, with a convincing win over Oman, thanks to a stellar performance by all-rounder Marcus Stoinis.
With an undefeated 67 runs and 3 wickets for 19 runs, Stoinis was the star performer, helping the Australians to an easy win.
Australia easily crossed the finish line with Stoinis' game-winning effort, which stabilized their innings as they chased a goal of 165.
Marcus Stoinis aggressive batting and precise shot selection were a treat to watch, as he guided Australia to a commanding position.
This exceptional performance also etched Stoinis' name in the T20 World Cup record books. He became only the third player in T20 World Cup history to score 50+ runs and take 3 wickets in a single match.
The first player to achieve this feat was a West Indies star all-rounder Dwayne Bravo in the 2009 edition, followed by another Australian all-rounder Shane Watson, who managed it twice in the 2012 edition.
