England's white-ball captain, Jos Buttler, has announced that he will not be participating in the SA20 2025, which runs from January 9 to February 8.

This decision comes as the England cricket team will be touring India during the same period, with a demanding schedule of five T20Is and three ODIs from January 22 to February 12.

In a heartfelt message to Paarl Royals fans, Jos Buttler expressed his regret over missing the tournament.

"This is a message to the Paarl Royals fans. I am disappointed that I won’t be coming back to the SA20 this year. There are some England games on, and my full focus will be there. It's a shame I won’t be coming back to the tournament," Buttler said in a video.

Buttler’s decision comes after the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) reaffirmed their support for him as the white-ball captain following recent underwhelming performances.

With a crucial tour of India on the horizon and the 2025 Champions Trophy approaching, Buttler has opted to prioritize national duties.

Earlier this season, Buttler was sidelined from The Hundred 2024 due to a calf injury, missing the first three matches for Manchester Originals. Despite this setback, he is expected to return to action next month for a series against Australia.

To fill Buttler’s void, the Paarl Royals have signed Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik, who recently retired from international cricket and the IPL.
