After losing the home encounter against Punjab Kings (PBKS) last week, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) managed to take revenge in the return leg in Dharamshala on Sunday afternoon as they won the game by 28 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja starred in the mentioned win as his batting prowess was called up as CSK kept losing wickets. Jadeja scored 43(26) and helped them to reach a defendable score of 167.

With the ball, whilst Prabhsimran Singh started well and looked like chasing down the score for PBKS, Jadeja got the better of him and dismissed the opener when he tried to go over the extra cover boundary. He finished the game with 3/20 while also dismissing captain Sam Curran and dangerous Ashutosh Sharma.

In the post-match interview after being awarded the Player of The Match award, he reflected on how the wicket played and how CSK batted,

"It was a slow wicket as it was a day game, which was expected. We had a good powerplay [with the bat] but couldn't build partnerships in the middle overs so I was aiming to stitch some partnerships in the middle."

"It always looks like a flat wicket during the Powerplays but it wasn't coming on the bat as the ball got older, especially with the unfamiliarity in the away games, it is not as easy. We were 15-20 short."

On how the pacers bowled upfront and how he capitalized in the middle overs,

"We bowled well as a group. Tushar gave us a good start in the powerplay and Mitch [Santner] and I did a decent job in the middle overs and didn't give any loose balls."

About approaching the game in the modern times with constant changes all around, Jadeja talked about his focus on his role of controlling the games in cases of losing early wickets. He admitted to not getting good starts this season which has resulted in change of his role with the bat.

With Sunday's win, CSK go up to the third spot on the points table. They will be facing Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad next on Friday, May 10.
