Table-toppers India, who remained undefeated throughout the group stage, will take on New Zealand in the first semi-final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 on November 15 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
The Men in Blue finished at the top of the points table during the group stage after their final match against the Netherlands on Sunday. This is the second time these two teams will face each other in a World Cup semi-final.
What set Team India apart in the esteemed competition was their on-field prowess and camaraderie within the team. After every match, the players radiated joy and cheer, truly savouring each victory.
Addressing the media before their high-stakes encounter against New Zealand, Team India captain Rohit Sharma shared insights into the team environment.
Here’s what Rohit Sharma said
“That's a conscious effort [On team environment]. We wanted to build it and that can't be done with one or two players. All of them have chipped, including the support staff.”
Adding to this, Rohit Sharma also revealed that the team conducted a confidential fashion show unknown to outsiders. Emphasising the commitment to maintaining a positive team environment, he mentioned that each player has contributed to this effort.
“We even had a secret fashion show which thankfully no one knows about. We have had a great environment since the start. We have done everything to keep the environment of the team easy.”
After a decade without the ICC World Cup trophy, Team India is eager to clinch the title this year, boasting what many consider to be their most powerful team yet.
