India and Australia will lock horns in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in November 2024, when the two teams square off for a five-match series Down Under. The two teams have enjoyed a fierce rivalry over the years, and things got heated up when India registered their second straight series win on Australian soil on the 2020/21 tour.

In the latest events, Australia's star opener Usman Khawaja has opened up on the rivalry and remarked that Indians love to beat Australia in all formats.

Khawaja Talks About India-Australia Rivalry

"For Indians, it's always been the case to beat Australia. And more recently, you know, since the rise of India and IPL and everything else that happened, it's the same way with Australia against India," Khawaja said.

"And particularly since India's beaten Australia in Australia the last two times they've come out of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. It just means a little bit more,” he told Star Sports.

Khawaja Heaps Massive Praise On Indian Team

Usman Khawaja heaped massive praise on the Indian side and remarked that he respects their mentality to beat Australia irrespective of the format.

"We're world number one, world number two teams really over the last two years. We were there at the last World Test Championship together. The rivalry has always been huge. I take it as a sign of respect and I know that Indians love beating Australia in any sort of form of cricket. And the tradition that Australia has had over so many years as being one of the dominating teams in world cricket has staked that reputation," said Khawaja.

The first Test between India and Australia will take place on November 22 at Optus Stadium, Perth.
