With just under 24 hours to go for the all-important semi-final clash between New Zealand and India in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, Kiwi skipper Kane Williamson has described the mood in his camp.

Speaking on the eve of the semi-final clash at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Williamson stated how the Black Caps players are excited to play on such an occasion, and further acknowledged that it will be a tough challenge to go up against hosts India.

Led by Rohit Sharma, India heads into the semi-final unbeaten, having won all their nine group encounters, including a close four-wicket win over New Zealand at Dharamshala.

Here's what Williamson said

"It's good, yeah. Not many people get the chance to play cricket in this stadium and on this occasion. It's going to be a tough challenge. They are playing some good cricket but it's all about one day. We have played some good cricket. We are excited."

New Zealand, on the other hand, qualified after undergoing a rough patch that saw them suffer four consecutive defeats, however, the Kiwi side bounced back and claimed the fourth spot and booked their place in the knockouts.

In ODI World Cups, New Zealand holds an overwhelming advantage over India, winning nine out of their 13 encounters and losing just four.

In ICC knockouts, India are yet to beat New Zealand, having lost both the finals of Champions Trophy 2000 Final and ICC CWC 2019 Semi-Finals, respectively.
