Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma, two sons of Punjab, are currently making the headlines in international cricket. While one is at the helm of Indian cricket, the other is rewriting record books with his knocks at the top of Men in Blue's T20I batting order.

Shane Watson, a former Australian all-rounder, showered praise for both of these 'talented' batters while dropping in key advice to improve their game for the long run, amidst lean patches and adaptability issues.

Watson didn't mince words praising Gill

Gill was leading India in the West Indies Tests before leaving for Australia's white-ball tour. After switching from red-ball, Gill had a rough patch with 43 runs from three outings. In the T20I segment too, he had forgettable outings, and with two games left to play, Watson backed Gill to bounce back.

"It does take time, and it's through trial and error that you really realise exactly what you need to do to make those adjustments, and playing in different conditions as well. Shubman Gill is a ridiculously talented batter. He's got an amazing technique. It's not going to take him long at all to be able to really navigate his way through the different formats because when someone is as highly skilled as he is, it's not going to take him too long," Watson added.

Watson commends Abhishek's fearlessness

Watson, however, was also full of praise for Shubman Gill's childhood friend Abhishek Sharma, who is now making the headlines with his flamboyant and fearless gameplay.

"He's incredibly good, isn't he? It's been special to see his evolution over the last two or three years, from when he first came in, got opportunities for Sunrisers Hyderabad. And then seeing him just continue to explode like he has," Watson told reporters.

Watson also jokingly underlined Abhishek Sharma's lethality with the bat as he warned bowlers of his capabilities and asked them to get him out soon.

"So he is an absolute treat to be able to watch. Someone who's so fearless, but then he's got the skill to be able to go with it, to adapt to whatever's required as well. Try to get him out. Otherwise, you're in deep trouble," Watson concluded.

Gill and Abhishek both will be eager to ramp up their game in the upcoming 4th T20I against Australia that is scheduled for November 6 at Carrara, as the series currently stands at 1-1 after three games.
