Virat Kohli, the Indian superstar, registered back-to-back ducks for the first time in his 17-year-long ODI career. Iceland Cricket has now joined the trolling by dragging Saim Ayub into the debate.
Playing the second ODI against Australia at the Adelaide Oval, Kohli was trapped LBW by Xavier Bartlett after facing just four deliveries.
Previously, Kohli was sent back on an 8-ball duck by Mitchell Starc. With two consecutive zeros, the usually reliable run machine looked visibly dejected as he walked back to the pavilion.
Iceland Cricket drags Saim Ayub in argument to troll Virat Kohli
But what followed on social media made even more noise. The ever-witty Iceland Cricket took to X (formerly Twitter) to troll Pakistan’s Saim Ayub after Virat Kohli’s dismissal, posting, “Looks like Virat Kohli has been watching the Saim Ayub coaching videos.”

The tweet quickly went viral, with fans from both India and Pakistan flooding the comments section.
The dig referred to Saim Ayub's underwhelming performance in the Asia Cup 2025, wherein the left-hander recorded 4 ducks in 7 innings, inciting criticism over his temperament and technique.
While some found Iceland Cricket’s humour savage but funny, others called it unnecessary, defending Kohli as one of the greatest of all time.
Virat Kohli enters the unwanted list with back-to-back ducks
With his latest duck, Virat Kohli now has 18 zeroes in ODIs, putting him behind only Sachin Tendulkar (20) and Javagal Srinath (19) among Indian players.
Across world cricket, Sanath Jayasuriya leads the list with 34 ODI ducks, followed by Shahid Afridi (30).
Despite the disappointment, Virat Kohli got a warm reception from the Adelaide fans, realising that this could be his last ODI appearance at the legendary ground. Kohli also accepted the appreciation, extending his hand as he walked back.
