For the first time in his career, Virat Kohli registered back-to-back ducks in ODI cricket, and the unwanted feat came in the ODI series vs the Australian side. He was dismissed for naught by Mitch Starc in the first ODI, and Xavier Bartlett became his nemesis in the second ODI as the legendary batter is yet to score a single run on this tour.

The Indian star lacked the cutting-edge and he looked rusty as the Australian bowlers blocked him from scoring runs, and he failed to deliver the goods on what could probably be his last ODI tour in Australia.

Kohli slammed on social media as India star registers duck

His performances didn’t go well with the Indian fans, as the batter was heavily criticised on social media, as fans slammed Virat Kohli for his dismal showing.

"To be honest Virat kohli has gotten enough chances and sympathy. Out of form is different thing but taking for granted is something serious. He is now degrading his name only."

"virat kohli... cricket is not for you anymore. please retire.. go spend time with your family. let youngsters take your spot.. and also stop crying about not getting time with your family."

"Only 1 man is responsible for Virat kohli downfall : Virat Kohli himself. The biggest egoistic maniac."

"VIRAT KOHLI THANKING THE ADELAIDE CROWD. This is Virat's last match, Thank you."

What lies ahead for Virat Kohli?

Kohli, who has already retired from T20Is and Tests, came into the ODI series vs Australia on the back of hardly any practice as he last played in the IPL finals on June 3. Since then, he has been on a break, and chief selector, Ajit Agarkar, raised concerns regarding the match-fitness of both Kohli, and Rohit Sharma.

There were reports that Agarkar even urged Kohli and Rohit to play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for future ODI selections. Now, with Kohli failing in back-to-back games, the outside noise will increase, and perhaps this could turn out to be his last-ever ODI assignment for India.
