Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma recently interacted with fans in Dallas. Last month, the 37-year-old led Team India to a historic win at the 2024 T20 World Cup, defeating South Africa in a hard-fought final in Barbados on June 29.

While speaking with the fans, Sharma teased his future in international cricket after having announced his retirement from T20Is.

Rohit Sharma attended a special conference in Dallas in mid-July, where he interacted with a number of his fans and followers. During his interaction, the cricketer also teased his future as a player, claiming that the fans will indeed see him play more competitive cricket “for a while”.

Rohit’s statement came a couple of weeks after he led Team India to a historic 2024 T20 World Cup win, following which he announced his retirement from T20I matches.

Through India’s 2024 T20 World Cup win, Rohit Sharma became only the third Indian skipper after Kapil Dev (1983) and MS Dhoni (2007 and 2011) to a win a World Cup. The outcome also ended India’s decade-long ICC title drought since claiming the 2013 Champions Trophy in England.

While he has announced his T20I retirement, Rohit Sharma will also be rested from India’s squad for their upcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka.

As per reports, the legendary opening batter will return to India’s setup in time for a two-match Test series against Bangladesh in September.
