After a last ball thriller win against Chennai, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) dressing room was graced with Universe Boss Chris Gayle’s presence and Virat Kohli took his opportunity to recruit Gayle back to RCB citing hilarious advantages of impact player rule.

The Royal Challengers, after being invincible in the month of May, stormed into the playoff by defeating five-time champions CSK in a virtual knockout last weekend.

That being said, after the awe-inspiring game, Universe boss Chris Gayle, who had been a vital part of RCB in his prime days, visited the winning dressing room to celebrate the spectacular victory.

He met his old friend Virat Kohli, and the duo engaged in a hilarious conversation. In a video posted on RCB’s official social media handle, Kohli is seen recruiting Gayle back to RCB and uses the impact player rule to argue his case.

Virat Kohli asked Chris Gayle to return to RCB next year as he won’t have to field anymore due to the introduction of impact player rule. In fact, Kohli went on to quip that perhaps the impact rule was designed especially for players like Gayle who are hesitant to run and field due to their large physique.

Meanwhile, Gayle simply laughed at Kohli’s suggestion before the duo struck a pose for a picture together.

RCB is through to the playoff stage of the IPL 2024 season after being at the bottom of the points table for nearly 4 weeks. That’s some turnaround. But the road to the finals will be much tougher and riskier as each game is a knockout contest for RCB.
