It is being reported that after his retirement from the white-ball formats, the ex-all-format skipper is expected to migrate from the island country to down the south in Australia where he has also been said to have bought a few houses in Melbourne.

Mathews will only move to Melbourne at the conclusion of the T20 World Cup as he looks to settle down with his young family. The decision can also be regarded as to hope and have better conditions to live in, citing the turmoil Sri Lanka has been facing in the last couple of years.

The Wanindu Hasaranga-led Sri Lankan team has already reached the USA and will be playing their first game of the mega T20 event against South Africa on Monday, June 3 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York. They also have Bangladesh, Nepal and the Netherlands in their group.

Ahead of the tournament, they will also be facing the Dutch and Ireland on May 28 and May 31 respectively.
