Kent (KCC) is playing against Somerset (SCC) at Taunton in the ongoing County Championship Division One game where Zak Crawley starred in a solid comeback for KCC after being put in for a follow-on by SCC on day 3 after conceding a heavy lead.
The 26-year-old scored a massive 238 (267) in the second innings, staging a fightback for his side, following a string of low scores from him in the last three outings against Surrey, Lancashire and Worcester where he just managed 5 & 4, 41 & 1 and 6 & 10 respectively before a golden duck in the first innings in the ongoing match.
While trailing Somerset's first-innings lead of 378 runs, Crawley stitched a big opening stand with Ben Compton, scoring 194 runs at the top. He was then joined by captain, Daniel Bell-Drummond as the duo added another 184 runs for the second innings.
Crawley fell to the 29-year-old, Migael Pretorius as he was caught behind after the marathon knock. At the end of day 3, Kent managed to gain a 33-run lead after the herculean effort from the England international. They go to the final day with 5 wickets in hand and veteran Joe Denly at the crease.
In what would be an uphill task, the Kent side will be looking to add some quick runs early on and bowl out Somerset quickly. The former sits 8th on the division one points table with 58 points in 6 matches, whereas the latter find themselves 2nd with 80 in same number of games.
