"Bay 13" at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is a famous section of the stadium known for its vibrant and passionate atmosphere during cricket matches.

Bay 13 is traditionally associated with vocal and passionate cricket fans who are known for their unwavering support for the Australian cricket team. The bay is located in the Southern Stand of the MCG and is particularly popular during Test matches, ODIs, and other major cricket events.

Fans in Bay 13 are known for their chants, banter, and colourful costumes, creating an electric atmosphere that adds to the overall entertainment of the matchup.

However, that particular section of the crows is not too friendly with the opposition.

Wasim Akram opens up on his experience with Bay 13 crowd

Recently, former Pakistani bowling legend Wasim Akram shared a hilarious incident of his encounter with the Bay 13 crowd during a series with Australia, which dates back to 1989.

Wasim Akram was on air commentating on the Australian and Pakistan Boxing Day Test when his counterparts asked him to share his experience with the Bay 13 crowd.

Akram added that he had just picked a fifer against the Aussies, and immediately after that, his captain Imran Khan asked him to field near the boundary ropes, which was right ahead of the Bay 13 section.

The former pacer revealed that the crowd abused him with a word that he could not say on air but confirmed that it rhymes with 'Banker.'

However, Akram had trouble understanding the Aussie accent and kind of assumed that the crowd was appreciating his stellar spell.

Subsequently, he soaked what he thought was applause before his captain stepped in.

Imran Khan walked up to him and translated what was being thrown at him by the crowd. Wasim Akram was immediately embarrassed but did not clap back and continued to field.

Certainly, the Aussies are passionate about its sport. They act as the team's 12th man and never shy away from showing aggressive support.
