[Watch] Shreyas Iyer 'Cleaned Up' As Marco Jansen Keeps Reaping Rewards

The South African team has outclassed the Indian cricket team with its sheer brilliance and dominance with the ball. Not once in the ongoing Boxing Day Test match did the visitors feel comfortable.

Firstly, Kagiso Rabada's fifer in the first innings restricted India to a lowly total of 245 runs. In response, Deal Elgar, with his intent to turn his farewell test into a memorable event, scored 185 runs to put Indian bowlers under pressure.

Eventually, the new ball on Day 3 did the trick, as India managed to bowl out the Proteas for 408 runs. Yet, the hosts enjoyed a 153-run lead, which was simply enough to put the Indian batters under pressure.

However, what followed thereafter proved to be nothing short of a nightmare. India lost both openers in the first six overs. Rabada and Jansen's disciplined lines and length challenged India's focus and determination.

Shubman Gill looked strong at some point but was cleaned up by Marco Jansen's ripper delivery.

Then came Shreyas Iyer, who also struggled to grapple with the conditions. Not once in his 12-ball stay did he look comfortable. The batter also lacked confidence owing to his subpar form.

He seemed destined for another failure as Marco Jansen claimed his second victim. Iyer tried to hit Jansen's fuller delivery straight down the ground. However, the KKR captain was deceived by pace. Instead, he ended up getting an inside edge, and the ball clipped the off stump to end Iyer's troubling stay at the crease.

With that, India's half-side is back in the hut, and the trail is still persistent. At this rate, South Africa are poised to win this contest by a significant margin

Having said that, Virat Kohli is holding on to one end of the crease and is nearing his 30th test fifty. But he needs an anchor to last deep.

KL Rahul, the first-inning hero, failed to emulate the same and was sent packing by Nandre Burger. It's Thakur and Kohli now at the crease to rescue India from a humiliating loss.
