Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) spinner Suyash Sharma has thanked the franchise for managing his surgery. The cricketer revealed that he was playing in pain for the last two years due to multiple hernias. Ahead of RCB’s next match of the IPL 2025 season against struggling CSK team, Suyash added that he is now fully fit and is grateful of joining the franchise.
It is worth noting that the Delhi-based leg-spinner was part of KKR’s title-winning IPL 2024 campaign last year. However, he was released by the KKR management, only to be picked up by RCB at the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Suyash Sharma thanks RCB franchise
Suyash Sharma joined the RCB franchise as part of the IPL 2025 season. During a recent interview as shared on RCB’s social media platforms, the cricketer thanked the team management for taking care of his surgery amidst suffering and playing with pain for the last two years.
He said:
“RCB showed me a lot of faith & they invested a lot in me. They manage all my surgery and everything.”
Suyash Sharma made his IPL debut back in 2023 for the KKR franchise. He celebrated his maiden IPL gig by picking up 10 wickets in 11 innings. The following year, he played a couple of matches during KKR’s title victory.
While Suyash has managed to pick up just four wickets this IPL 2025 season from nine matches for the RCB, the leg-spinner has managed to contain runs from his end, maintaining an economy rate of less than eight. Moreover, the 22-year-old played a key role in RCB’s comprehensive win over Punjab Kings in Mullanpur.
