'Virat Kohli Will Have...': Sanjay Manjrekar On Former Indian Captain's T20I Future

With the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) trying out youngsters in T20 Internationals, questions regarding the former skipper Virat Kohli's future arises.  

Kohli, who last played T20I for India in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Semi-Finals has been rested for upcoming South Africa T20Is, which could be a sign of things to come with ICC T20 WC 2024 just a few months away. 

Former India international Sanjay Manjrekar, too, has given his opinion about Kohli's T20I future, stating how the batter will need to prove himself with so much competition around. 

As quoted by ANI, Manjrekar further pointed out that Rohit Sharma's place is also unsure, he is facing stiff competition from Hardik Pandya while asserting that Team India should be selected on form and not reputation for marquee events. 


Here's what Manjrekar said

"Virat Kohli will have to show that he is a better option than the youngsters who are playing currently. Who knows what's in store in life? I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow. I believe the approach should be extremely simple."

Meanwhile, both Sharma and Kohli will seen in action in the two-Test series in South Africa, having been rested from white-ball leg.
