Temba Bavuma, Kagiso Rabada Dropped? CSA Names ODI Squad For India Series

In a major development, Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced squads for a full-fledged series against India at home, starting from December 10. The South African selectors have rested a few names for the white-ball series, hinting a lot about their plans heading towards the T20 World Cup 2024 - scheduled to be played in Carribean and the USA. 

Interestingly, for the ODIs, the Proteas have rested their Test and ODI captain Temba Bavuma and experienced pacer Kagiso Rabada; with Aiden Markram given the captaincy reigns against India. 

Players such as David Miller, Rassie van der Dussen, Keshav Maharaj, Heinrich Klaasen, Andile Phehlukwayo and Tabriaz Shamsi - who played a vital part in the recently concluded ODI World Cup - will be taking part in the three-match ODI series.

After Quinton de Kock's retirement, the selectors have gone with the Test specialist Kyle Verreynne. Additionally, fringe players like Lizaad Williams, Wiaan Mulder, Tony de Zorzi have also been included to the ODIs versus the Men in Blue.
