On Friday, Pakistan incurred a demoralising 79-run defeat in the second Test of the ongoing three-match series against Australia in Melbourne. Chasing a steep target of 317, the visitors were bowled out for 237 despite spirited performances from Shan Masood and Agha Salman.

Meanwhile, Pakistan's Director of Cricket Mohammad Hafeez has blamed poor umpiring and technology for the side's disastrous loss in the Boxing Day Test. Speaking in the post-match press conference, Hafeez expressed his frustration on some questionable on-field decisions, which didn't favour Pakistan.

He also took a direct jibe at broadcasters, accusing them of manipulating the technology in the home team's favour.

"We made some mistakes as a team; we will take that and address those things. But at the same time, I believe inconsistent umpiring and technology curse really gave us the result which should've been different.

"Pakistan played better than the other team. Our batting intent was better; our bowlers hit the right areas. We made some mistakes, but I believe there were a lot of positives. But, unfortunately, we didn't win the game."

With the MCG win, Australia clinched the series and will look to whitewash the visitors by winning the third Test, starting on January 3 at SCG.
