As the game progressed, it was in the fifth over, bowled by Will Sutherland, that Lynn stamped his authority in an unforgettable fashion. Facing a length ball, Lynn advanced down the pitch and unleashed his full might, sending the ball soaring with such brute force that it struck the roof of the stadium. The monstrous went as far as a staggering 103 meters.

The umpires, faced with the rare occurrence of a ball hitting the roof, had to make a decision. In this instance, they rightly awarded Lynn a six, adding to the excitement of the Strikers' innings.

Not content with just one moment of glory, Lynn continued his onslaught, treating the Melbourne bowlers with disdain. He raced to his fifty in just 27 balls, a masterclass featuring three fours and an incredible four sixes. His innings wasn't just about power; they were a statement of intent, sending a clear message to the opposition.

Meanwhile, D'Arcy Short provided stable support at the other end, contributing 29 off 33 balls, helping to build a formidable partnership. Together, they steered the Adelaide Strikers to a commanding position. By the end of the 12th over, the scoreboard read an impressive 94/1, with Lynn still at the crease, batting beautifully.
