Naseem Shah Opines On Foreign Coaches
Former Australia seamer Jason Gillespie will kickstart his campaign as Pakistan's red-ball head coach from August 21 as Bangladesh will tour Pakistan for a two-match Test series.
Recently, the PCB released their squad for the upcoming home series as the PCB made a few changes, which includes sacking Shaheen Afridi as the vice-captain.
Meanwhile, eyes would also be on Naseem Shah as the star right-arm seamer returns to the red-ball set-up after he missed the Australian tour last year because of injury.
Pakistan cricket is at an all-time low as they suffered early exits in the recent white-ball events but would look to turn things around in the Tests.
Meanwhile, Naseem Shah opened up on language barriers with foreign coaches and remarked that he finds it hard to communicate with Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie. Shah also added that he requires a translator and that talking to a coach in his own language is much more easier.
"There is a language problem with foreign coaches. We need someone to translate the language. It is easier to communicate with the coach in your own language."
Naseem Shah's Return From Injury
Shah will return to Test cricket after 13 months as he last featured for Pakistan against Sri Lanka in 2023.
"Yes, our comeback wasn't great, and we can't deny that we didn't play good cricket. Criticism is part of it, and we must endure it until things improve. This is a good chance to bounce back, play better, and show up as a team. That's what I'm hoping for. I haven’t played red-ball cricket for 13 months; it’s not easy to play after a long time. International cricket has its own pressure; however, we are training hard for it."
