How Many Matches Will India, Pakistan, Bangladesh Play Before Champions Trophy 2025?

The Champions Trophy 2025 is not really far away from us. If everything goes as scheduled, the Pakistan Cricket Board will host the prestigious tournament on home soil. 

Regarded as the second most competitive ODI tournament, the ICC Champions Trophy has always been a subject of fascination among the cricketing fraternity. 

Since its inception as the Knockout Cup in 1998, the tournament has witnessed an extreme level of competitive cricket. 

So, considering the tournament's reputation, the eight participating teams generally leave no stone unturned in their preparations for it. 

As far as the upcoming season is concerned, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Afghanistan will feature in the event apart from the arch-rivals, India and Pakistan. 

So, as we inch closer towards the tournament, let's see how many matches each team has left to play before the marquee event. 


India

Led by Rohit Sharma, India recently had a torrid run in ODIs, losing the three-match series against Sri Lanka in their backyard. 

Moving forward, India have only three ODIs before the Champions Trophy when they take on England at home. 


Pakistan

As compared to India, Pakistan will have the luxury of more game time heading to the Champions Trophy. 

Led by Babar Azam, Pakistan will face Australia in a three-match away series before colliding with Zimbabwe in as many fixtures. 

After that, Pakistan will take on South Africa in three ODIs and a Tri-series involving New Zealand. 

So, they will get at least eleven games to prepare for the marquee event unless they qualify for the final of the Tri-series. 


Australia

Meanwhile, Australia will get eight ODIs to prepare for the Champions Trophy. As per the released schedule, they will play five games against England before facing Pakistan in three fixtures at home. 


England

Regarding the Englishmen, Jos Buttler and co will get eleven ODIs to fine-tune themselves for the Champions Trophy 2025. Apart from the five-match series against Australia, England will cross swords against India and West Indies in three ODIs each. 


Bangladesh

According to their released schedule, Bangladesh will get only three ODIs against West Indies to prepare for the Champions Trophy.
