India advanced to the T20 World Cup 2024 finals after they beat England by 68 runs in the second semi-finals on June 27. The Men in Blue are unbeaten in the tournament and eyeing their 2nd T20 World Cup trophy when they face South Africa on June 29.
While India are having a great tournament, former skipper Virat Kohli is having a tournament to forget on an individual basis. The right-hand batter has amassed just 75 runs in seven games which included two ducks.
Over the years, Virat has made a fan for himself to score big in crunch situations, but his failure against England came as a shock for the Indian fans. Amid this, extreme fan clubs brutally trolled Kohli for his disastrous World Cup and a few even crossed limits.
In the latest events, sports analyst Harsha Bhogle has come in defence of Virat and slammed the extreme fans for their social media activities.
"Sometimes there is very angry and vicious banter from fan clubs on social media. When a player is down is the time to show your class. And this is the time to get behind Virat Kohli who could well produce a match-winning performance in the final. But irrespective, this is the time to rally around."
India will face South Africa in the finals on June 29 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
