Shubman Gill has been in the spotlight in recent times, particularly after his appointment as India’s Test captain. His calm demeanor, sharp cricketing mind, and consistent performances have drawn attention, especially following his leadership during the five-match Test series in England.
Gill’s ability to inspire and lead from the front has cemented his status as a rising star in Indian cricket. Many voices across the cricketing world have praised the young star in the making, hailing him as the emerging prince of world cricket with glimpses already on display on the pitch.
Gill’s Captaincy Success No Surprise for Sai Kishore
His very own Gujarat Titans teammate, Sai Kishore in a recent interview with ANI, shared his thoughts on Shubman Gill and his approach as a captain. The left-arm spinner reflected on Gill’s journey from a young age, growing maturely in every stage of his career.
"Shubman has always been a prodigy from junior cricket to domestic cricket to India A, IPL and everything. He has scored a lot of runs and the very reason that he took to captaincy and there is no surprise is that he took it like fish to water. The way he led in IPL was very nice and to see him lead in England was another different level because there were a lot of doubts on how India is going to play in England,” Kishore said.
Having been a captain himself for Tamil Nadu, Kishore lauded Gill’s leadership qualities and praised how he silenced doubters with his stellar performance in England. Gill was named Player of the Series after scoring 754 runs in five games at an average of 75.4.
India fought one of the most remarkable five-match series in recent memory, drawing it on the final day at The Oval. The tour not only highlighted Gill’s rise as a leader but also marked the rebuilding of a team that seemed to be crumbling under previous leadership just a year ago and is ready to take on the world in what is a new Era under a new skipper.
