The 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy between India and England turned out to be one of the most exciting and unforgettable Test series in recent times. Not only was it full of thrilling moments, but it was also a physically demanding series for the players. For the first time in eight years, all five Test matches went to the final day, making it an extremely intense and competitive contest.

As a result, many players struggled with injuries due to the heavy workload. Despite that, Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj showed great endurance by bowling in every single innings of the series.

Both India and England played fearless cricket throughout the series. There was aggressive batting, clever captaincy, and bold decision-making. Together, the two teams scored more than 7,000 runs. There were 19 centuries in total, and India alone hit a massive 470 boundaries. In the final Test at The Oval, England was chasing a target of 374 runs. By the end of Day 4, they were 339 for 6, needing just 35 more runs to win. On the other hand, India needed four more wickets to level the series. Thanks to an incredible bowling performance from Siraj, India managed to win the match by just 6 runs, one of their narrowest victories ever in Test cricket. This meant the five-match series ended 2-2, and because of the tie, both teams shared the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.

After the series ended, several awards were given out to celebrate individual performances.

Shubman Gill, the Indian captain, and England’s Ben Stokes both received the Pataudi Medal of Excellence for their overall contribution and leadership.
