Gujarat Titans’ left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore has made a strong statement about his career, saying he believes he is one of the best spinners in India right now and is fully prepared to make an impact at the international level.
Kishore, who debuted in IPL in 2022, has featured in 25 games for the franchise and taken 32 wickets at a remarkable average of 20.34, best of 4/33.
His sharp bowling has been one of the Gujarat Titans’ biggest strengths. He has also represented India in three T20Is, taking four wickets, including a brilliant 3/12 on debut.
Sai Kishore Makes Bold Claim Ahead Of West Indies Test Series
Speaking to ANI, Sai Kishore stressed that he is working hard on becoming a complete cricketer and firmly believes that he is one of the best spinners in India.
Kishore also explained that whenever an opportunity arises, he will be ready to grab it with both hands and make a lasting impact.
"I am definitely working on my batting and fielding. Not just these things, even my bowling with that regard to be multi-skilful if I can say that. I feel I am one of the best spinners in the country going around. I have already told this, and I really believe, and with all humility, I feel that. And whenever the chance comes, I think I will be ready for it," Kishore said.
Interestingly, his journey has been full of steady growth. Sai Kishore was first picked by the Chennai Super Kings in 2020 but did not play a game.
He rose to fame after starring in Tamil Nadu’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy victory, which opened doors for him in the IPL. He was signed by Gujarat Titans in 2022 for ₹3 crores and played an important role in their championship-winning season
Kishore Has Strong Domestic Numbers To Back Him
In domestic cricket, Sai Kishore has been equally dominant. He was Tamil Nadu’s leading wicket-taker in the Ranji Trophy 2018-19 season and shone in the Duleep Trophy with seven wickets in the final for South Zone.
In 2023, he helped South Zone lift the Duleep Trophy with another match-winning performance. Later that year, he made his India debut at the Asian Games 2023, finishing with four wickets in three games at an economy of just 5.25.
Not only that, in 2025, he played County Championship for Surrey. As India prepares for the upcoming Test series against the West Indies starting October 2, Sai Kishore is hoping to get a break soon.
