Ahead of the high-voltage Border Gavaskar Series, Australian pacer Mitchell Starc praised India’s stand-in captain, Jasprit Bumrah, for his precise execution and rated him the best across all formats.

India’s first Test against Australia is scheduled at Perth from November 22. Both sides are leaving no stone unturned in getting the preparations right as a lot is at stake. 

Meanwhile, to fuel the existing rivalry, former cricketers from India and Australia are throwing verbal punches with the media also hyping up the matchup with quirky headlines.

However, as far as the players are concerned, they are staying away from their mind games to focus on the task at hand. In fact the Australian squad was recently seen praising Indian fast bowler and stand-in captain for Perth Test, Jasprit Bumrah.

Starc rates Bumrah highly ahead of BGT opener

Speaking to Triple M Cricket, Australian veteran pacer Mitchell Starc shared his two cents on Jasprit Bumrah. Keeping the on-field battle and rivalry aside, Starc heaped praise on Bumrah’s precision. He noted that the art of nailing execution is perfected by Jasprit as he is one of the most impactful bowlers across all formats. 

"The execution skill of Jasprit Bumrah at the moment is probably the best across all format," Starc said.

Bumrah, renowned for his lethal yorkers, deceptive slower balls, and ability to execute his plans under pressure, has built a reputation as one of the most complete fast bowlers in modern cricket. In ODIs and T20Is, Bumrah’s precision at death overs makes him a feared weapon, whereas, in the red ball format, Bumrah is equally efficient with the new and old ball.

Hence, heading into the high-stake Border Gavaskar series, India will rely heavily on Jasprit Bumrah for crucial breakthroughs.
