After India's upsetting defeat in the World Cup 2023 final, the former Indian cricketer, Mohammad Kaif stated that India was the best team on paper. Now, David Warner who lifted the World Cup 2023 trophy with the Australian team replies to what Mohammad Kaif said.

Mohammad Kaif just like any other Indian was keen on seeing Rohit Sharma and his men lifting the trophy after their unbeaten winning streak of 10 matches until the final. Team India was indeed the best team throughout the tournament, not just because they won all the league matches and the semifinal, but also because each player stood up and contributed on different occasions.

The NatWest series hero could not believe that India lost the World Cup final despite having the best players who performed throughout the tournament. He said that it was not the best team who had won this time because team India were the greatest one in this World Cup edition. And while saying this, he said the Indian team was best on paper, to which people are criticising him for giving this kind of a statement.

The World Cup 2023 winner, David Warner responds to Mohammad Kaif's statement

Through a tweet, David Warner said that he likes Mohammad Kaif but it's not about being the best team on paper, it is about how they perform on the day of the final. He believes the day of the final counts, it can go either way, that's why they call it a final.

While the reports suggested that this World Cup would be the last one for the Aussie's southpaw, in the same tweet, he has written 2027 here we come. Even yesterday, he shared his stats of the tournament and quoted 'Who said I'm finished?'. With this kind of statement, the fans are hoping to see him play in the Champions Trophy and maybe even the next World Cup.
