In a thrilling Test match that kept fans on the edge of their seats, India emerged triumphant against England in Ranchi, securing a series victory with a 3-1 lead after losing the first match in Hyderabad.

This marks England's first series defeat under the leadership of Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum, as well as their first-ever loss of three consecutive Test matches.

Reflecting on the intense battle in Ranchi, English captain Ben Stokes praised the efforts of his team, saying,

"It was a great Test match. Tom Hartley bowled very well and to get exposure very early in your career, it was great. I couldn't be more prouder of those two young spinners."

Stokes emphasized his approach as a captain, highlighting the importance of allowing freedom to players and backing his bowlers to excel against the formidable Indian side at home.

"That's the way I'm as a person and as a captain. Allowing the freedom to take every ball as an occasion and not think what is going to happen next. India is a pretty intimidating side at home and I just backed my bowlers to do their thing. We are great fans of Test cricket and I feel the future of Test cricket is good."

Despite facing challenges, he expressed optimism about the future of Test cricket, reaffirming his team's commitment to consistency and giving their all on the field.

"You come into the series to win. I have come here for two years and my message always is to be consistent. Everyone has given everything on the field and that's what matters to us."

Acknowledging the tough periods during the match, Stokes commended Joe Root for his remarkable innings, dismissing criticism and recognizing Root's vast experience and contributions to the game.

"Joe Root incredible knock. I know he has stuck a fair bit of criticism. I don't think it was right. He has played a lot of games and scored close to 12,000 runs. He knows what to do. Also, Shoaib coming in without much experience and picking up eight wickets in the Test was great."

With the series now sealed, all eyes turn to the fifth and final Test match scheduled for March 7th in Dharamsala, where both teams will vie for pride and a chance to end the series on a high note.
