David Lloyd, the former English cricketer and one of the most renowned voices in the game of cricket has raised concern over pre-scheduling of India-Pak matches in ICC events. He mentioned that the practice of fixing India-Pakistan matches hamper the true nature of the game for commercial gains, and it is not a healthy practice in the long term.

The commentator expressed his views during discussion on TalkSPORT and was pretty straightforward in his criticism. He felt that ICC is manipulating scheduling due to the large market in India.

"Not In The Slightest. We Talk long and hard about fixing in cricket. That's fixed. It's just fixed  for a major event. The game itself is an event. You can't fix it and that's only part of what we fix. In this particular World Cup, you are just trying to manipulate. It's just wrong."

IND-PAK In T20 World Cup 2024

In the T20 World Cup 2024, the highly anticipated India- Pakistan game was played on 9th of June in New York where India came out on top in a low-scoring thriller. India went onto win all their matches in the group stage and Super 8, and have qualified for the semis where they will play England.

Pakistan, on the other hand, were knocked out after losing to India and USA, and it would be interesting to see how ICC go about their scheduling in the future ICC tournaments, after being criticised heavily in this World Cup.
