On Thursday, June 27, India will face England in the 2nd semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Guyana Stadium. The last time these two teams met was in the 2022 edition, where the Three Lions won by 10 wickets.

England went on to win that tournament, but in the last two years, several new faces have joined the side. In fact, at the start of the 2024 T20 World Cup, the defending champions struggled with their preferred playing XI and it was when the tournament progressed that they found their footing.

However, England made changes to their playing XI up until their last Super 8 stage game against the USA. So, will the Jos Buttler-led side make any changes to the playing XI and bring in the likes of Mark Wood and Will Jacks against India? Check out the probable playing XI for England.

England's Probable Playing XI

In the opening, England would continue with Phil Salt and Jos Buttler, as the duo have been in excellent form this edition. They stitched a 100+ runs stand against the USA.

In the middle order, England would be tempted to bring in Will Jacks, who last featured against Oman, but are likely to continue with Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, Harry Brooks, Moeen Ali and Sam Curran. Talking about Curran, he delivers with the ball and also completed his 50 T20I wickets against the USA.

In the bowling department, Mark Wood is likely to continue to be on the bench, as his replacement, Chris Jordan, shone against the USA and took a hat-trick. Also, Jordan loves playing against India and took a three-wicket haul during their 2022 World Cup semi-final tie.

Rest, Adil Rashid, Jofra Archer, and Reece Topley will headline the bowling attack.
