Former Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan made a huge claim about his former opponent, Rahul Dravid. Speaking about former India test cap, Murali said Dravid couldn't read him despite being a great batter.

While speaking during the trailer launch of his biopic titled '800', Murali shared his cricketing anecdotes. Discussing the players who could read him very well from India, he took the names of Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir.

Adding to the list of players, he feels the current Indian head coach, against whom he has played many matches, couldn't read him well. Interestingly, one of India's most incredible test batters, Dravid, scored over 13000 test runs in 164 tests that he played. Murali shared that some of his teammates failed to read him throughout his career, and some had learnt to play him over the years.

'Rahul Dravid never read me'- Muttiah Muralitharan

"He (Tendulkar) read me very well. Not many people can do that. Lara had success but he never hit me also. I know a few people, like Rahul Dravid, he is one of the greatest players but he never read me. Sachin, Virender Sehwag and Gambhir would read. Even in my team some people read and some did not,” Muralitharan said.

Joining him in the trailer launch, two cricket greats, Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara, shared their views on facing Murali. Sachin spoke about how diligently Murali mastered the art of Doosra in the nets for 18 long months before bowling in international matches.

Sachin praised Murali for his hard work to keep his strengths and originalities intact. Reacting to these words from Sachin, Murali was overjoyed. He responded with how great Sachin was then and even now. He strongly believes he won't see another Sachin in his 'lifetime'. From making a first-class debut at a tender age to dominating World Cricket for over 24 years, it is close to impossible to replicate. He was one of those complete batters anyone can only dream of.

Meanwhile, on the cricketing front, Sri Lanka and India are participating in the ongoing Asia Cup. They will meet in the Super 4 stage, whereas Lara's national team, West Indies, missed out on a World Cup berth for the first time in their cricketing history.
