Former World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh, known for his stylish left-handed batting, has been a pillar of support and critique for young 23-year-old, left-hand batter, Abhishek Sharma.

Despite Abhishek's remarkable innings in a recent IPL match, Yuvraj couldn't help but jest at his shot selection to get dismissed, jokingly threatening to "beat him with slippers" for his dismissal.

“Waah sir Abhishek waah 👏🏻 great innings but what a splendid shot to get out on! Laaton ke bhoot baaton se nahi maante! Special 🩴 waiting for you now Abhishek Sharma,” Yuvraj wrote on X.

In a high-scoring thriller against Mumbai Indians (MI), Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), a powerhouse batting display led by Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Heinrich Klaasen, set a new record for the highest-ever team total in IPL history, posting 277-3.

Abhishek's blitzkrieg knock of 63 runs off just 23 balls, including a record-breaking fifty in 16 balls, earned him the Player of the Match title. 

Abhishek, reflecting on his explosive innings, expressed his delight at being able to play freely, crediting the team management for encouraging such an approach. He particularly enjoyed batting with Head and appreciated the positive message from the captain and coach to express themselves on the field.

As Hyderabad gear up to face Gujarat Titans (GT) in their next match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on 31 March, cricket fans eagerly anticipate another dazzling display from Abhishek Sharma.
